Principals

Who They Are

With tight budget constraints, schools need additional resources to help students achieve and meet assessment standards. Project Stretch provides another option to advance students' critical and analytical thinking, which improves testing ability.

Project Stretch principals understand that incorporating technology into education requires more than hardware and software. As participants in the program, they are committed to identifying, supporting, and working with teachers and staff at their schools who can successfully integrate Project Stretch and the Stretchmoodle into their teaching and learning community.

Potential partnership schools are identified through contacts in the DOE or recommendations by principals who are already participating inProject Stretch. The project director visits interested principals and their staff upon discussion to implement the program, to brief them about goals, procedures, and outcomes of the project. Usually, principals select teachers based on their sensitivity and interest in integrating literacy and new IT into the classroom. Project Stretch staff then work together with principals and other administrators to assure that the project is successfully implemented.
