Welcome to Project STRETCH
Project Stretch, a technology-based after school literacy program, was created by the Stanton/Heiskell Center for Public Policy in Telecommunications and Information Systems at the City University of New York Graduate Center. It helps middle school students strengthen their critical thinking, communication and technical skills in the interest of stimulating and improving their overall academic achievement.
Project Stretch is a partnership that mobilizes the home, the neighborhood, the school, the university, the non-profit and business community on behalf of the student. The aim of the project is to encourage neighborhood after-school programs to include a structured computer-based educational curriculum routinely into their educational agenda. Our specific purpose is to provide a working model that other centers can adapt and enrich.
